Matt, if you go to the Wiki section of Enchanted Gears, on the right side bar there is a button that says “create new page”. All you need to do is click that and create a page and title it your characters journal. Then when you have that set up you edit the main wiki page and just insert (there is a insert button on the right while editing) the journal link to the main page. That will give the effect like Al has with Mayhem’s Journal.
If you are still having problems after that then let me know the name of the page you would like to make and I can set it up for you. Once set up you can go and edit it.
How do you make a journal? I don’t know html at all.
In my mind inspiration comes from things like:
Arcanum (video game)
Iron Kingdoms / Warmachines / Hordes (RPG and miniatures)
Full Metal Alchemist (anime)
Some other anime we saw once where there was a huge airship battle with broadsiding infantry like old European armies before American Revolution.
Our group could come to fruition by recruiting a party to take a boat to Dragonborn India (like the East Indian Trade Company kind of idea) with the intention of bring in profits (for some) or spreading religion (for others) or whatever else too (like tracking some one down for a bounty) or escaping a bounty, etc.
Dragonborn India could mirror actual colonial India. Big on colors and the caste system. Strange mages and spices and such. Kind of on the low-tech (low mechanika/arcanika). ??
If we add the Arcanik Skill, We should allow anyone whom would normally be able to choose either Arcana or Thievery as a trained skill for their class, trade out for Arcanik.
I love the Dragonborn Version of India Idea!!! Big Thumbs UP!!
I’m Also Up for the Quasi rotating DM, maybe 3-4 sessions a piece, enough to carry through an adventure.
All Great Ideas!!!
BRAIN STORMING :
Setting : Steampunk / Arcanika
Setting Level : Golden Age / Post Apocalypse / Fantasy-Eberron-Style-Torchlight / Technoir ??
Setting Movers : Coalition States Style Anti-Magic Human Supremists / Religious Anti-Magic Elves / Churchs of Technology / Evil Cults / Industry / Feudalism
Mechanical Changes to 4thEd : new skill = Arcanika (mechanical version of arcana)
Most Changes Won't Really be Changes Just Re-Naming Something
Character Concepts and Play Style Alterations from me :
BOUNTY HUNTER : Hobgoblin Ranger, uses rifle (instead of bow), and wears an armored duster w/goggles instead of studded leather armor.
Play Style Change : More like mass effect with Diplomacy = Paragaon and Intimidate = Renegade (moves beyond the 4th ed skills and more into ‘force of personality’ like mass effect) so we would be using both ALOT more often.
TRAVELING NOBLE : Human SwordMage : uses a “cloak” and 1H sword fighting style with many ‘tricks’ and arcanika up his sleaves rather than sword-mage-atude.
GRENADIER : Half-Elf Sorcerer who specializes in fire : this is a pyro who throws little custom grenades and shit.
INVESTIGATOR : Human Bard, former cop gone private. Like Dick Tracy.
TECHNO WIZARD / ARCANIK : Gnome Wizard
WHAT KIND OF FACTIONS DO PEOPLE HAVE IN MIND, MOST OF THE THINGS THAT COME TO ME ARE EBERRON CONCEPTS AND IRON KINGDOMS STUFF. I THINK IRON KINGDOMS WILL LEND A GREAT HAND TO THE MECHANIKAL AND MAGICAL MESHING AND ESPECIALLY THE STEAM PUNK STYLE.
I vote for steam-ships, dixie style, and air ships Eberron style. I vote for post apocalypse (w/some significany rebuilding) and a big human supremenist coalition style kingdoms that is very powerful and anti-magic. World type to be HUGE and largely unexplored except our ‘zone’ of civilization (not to say we can’t stumble over into other equally as large civilizations) like a Dragonborn version of India.
PARTY IDEAS : Lets make a pre-assembled party (at least partly) like we could have a random joiner or two but the core should be well known and have a history. Lets develope that and really squeeze some role-ing out. Like all part of the same royal house? or army? or Alchemical Cult? or we can all be apprentice Jedi?
EXCEUTION : Dustin didn’t exactly volunteer to GM, do we want to rotate or at least pass the duty around a little? I prolly can’t pitch in for that but that doesn’t mean I can’t prep encounters during the week for the current GM or make customer monsters/npc’s/cults/gangs/cities/etc. and provide that to the current GM.
LETS SEE WHAT WE CAN MAKE OF THIS
